I wanted to see the modern architecture, and the historical sights. Was very impressed. Had Tsingtao till passing out of exhaustion. Had tons of fun with friends. Had an adventure climbing the 70-degree steep ruins of the Great Wall.
Everything in Beijing is big. Distances are long. Renovation, modernization, destruction, tradition, dust, smells, smiles, food, bicycles. Bicycle lanes. Ironically, regardless of the pollution-puffing industri-motorization, Beijing is still probably the cycling-capital of the world.
